The following is a proposal for the HarperCollins Bicentennial Logo, entered into a company-wide contest. The criteria for the winning logo were described as follows:
"This logo will represent the 200th anniversary of HarperCollins globally. We are looking for something professional that evokes both the history and forward-thinking attitude of a global company like HarperCollins, and makes it clear that we are celebrating 200 years. The design should be universal in theme. The logo must reflect the company’s long literary tradition of educating, inspiring and entertaining readers as well as the anniversary celebration’s theme of supporting and celebrating a global literary culture."
